The Soupçon MCQ Series

 In the Soupçon MCQ Series, per day, there would be three MCQ questions. 

1) The concept called "World Literature" is the brain child of  a) Goethe b) David Damrosch c) Steven Totosy d) All of them. Choose the correct option: 1) 'a' is the right choice. 2) 'b' is the right choice. 3) 'd' is the right choice. 4)'a' and 'b' are both right. The correct option is (4) because Goethe was the first thinker to ideate the notion of "Weltliteratur", while Damrosch has recently re(de)fined the concept. As for Totosy, he theorises comparative literary and cultural studies.

2)  The "Gitanjali" was first published in a) 1913 b) 1912 c) 1910 d)1914. The correct option is 'c' . In 1912 was published the English version/translation. In 1913, the English version was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. In 1914, began the World War I. 

3) The 'affective fallacy' discusses a) the objective criticism b) the reader response theory c) the author's feelings while writing the literary piece d) the critical error of evaluating a literary text by its effects, especially the emotional effects, upon the reader. The correct option, as per the Wimsatt-Beardsley essay, has to be d'.
