A little clarification regarding the numbering of the series. Soupçon I was about general literary issues, while Soupçon II dealt with some hundred MCQ questions that might help the NET aspirants.

 Soupçon III is the  new "In Memoriam"  series. In it, III.i dealt with "Gulliver's Travels" (being refined still). So as not to get bewildered by the endless III. numbering, we chose to call the next theme, that is, the "International Year of Women Farmers" IV. Now this week onwards, begins a new theme. Hence V. This scheme would be continued. Each new theme would get the next digit. 

Now let us begin dealing with Charlie Chaplin's " Modern Times", one of the most trenchant comments on excessive and dehumanising industrialisation. In 2026, the film celebrates its ninetieth year, and is truly close to our times, when the AI, with its frightening greed for data that now it seems to define/refine in its own dehumanising ways, is demeaning us, its human(e) creators.
