Yes, we are going to continue this fallacy series till all the major fallacies are covered. Before we begin the discussion today, let me clarify something. The very first fallacy we analysed was "ad hominem" or shooting the messenger. Funnily, however, that discussion disappeared. Hence I have put it back. Hope you enjoy reading it.
Let us begin this week with a very common fallacy; namely, victim blaming. At times, it is also known as victim shaming. Basically, this weird argument consists of holding the person who has suffered responsible for the perpetrator's abuse, whether physical, and much worse, psychological. 'Flawed is the victim, and so the crime happened,' is the theory behind this fallacy.
It could be argued that this logical fallacy is rooted in twisted mindset. Hence this curiosity which reveals both, a cognitive bias and an ethical twist.
