"Ad hominem" is the first fallacy we would discuss in this series. It is often attempted, and everywhere, be it the private space or the public sphere. Why so? Well, it is the easiest!
This particular fallacy consists of shooting the messenger. That is to say, it is apparent when the speaker's character is assassinated because his/her argument cannot be countered. It is a kind of pressure tactic to silence the opponent.
The best example of "ad hominem" fallacy would be a boss scolding an employee for a minute's in reaching the office, and that is just because the data put forth by the junior blasts the boss's pet theories.
