The most unfortunate downfall of the absolutely tragic suicide by Sahil, and the ugly fracas that followed, is the assault on Humanities by one n all. It is no critique either, mind you.
Hence, in defence of the discipline(s), be it Literature and/or Sociology AND all the modes that make the Humanities, let us begin this new series entitled "Nuggets@ Know Thy Humanities." Begun today, on October 1, let us structure it as a quickie (who reads, forget loooong 'letters', these days?) of information tidbits from Monday to Thursday. Oh, yes, there would be a quiz every day, too. It would be answered each Friday. The best beginning would be October 2, the birth anniversary of Shastriji and Gandhiji, right?
In brief, watch this space tomorrow onwards!
